Wildly Frightened Athlete Photos

This Olympic Medalist is Captured Leaping Over Crocodiles

This was no glamorous photo shoot, but an intense one with a nervous athlete leaping over snapping crocodiles. Surrounded by 85 crocodiles at a South African crocodile creek, a photographer set out to test South African long jump and triple jump Olympic Medalist Khotso Mokoena's jumping abilities. The shoot was sponsored by Red Bull.

The photos show the athlete high up in the air, where a giant crocodile lies a few meters below. Apparently, one crocodile snapped at the athlete and he jumped so high that he completely escaped the camera frame. Khotso wasn't the only scared one at the scene; the photographer said he missed a lot of good shots because he was cautious about getting down lower with the camera, as he wasn't sure how the crocodiles would react.
