The archetypal escritoire might have a drawer or two tucked just beneath the writing surface, but the designer of le Bureau de Paolo went out on a limb to redefine the parameters of a desk's assembly. Sam Baron decided to make the storage compartments of the piece into legs beneath the flat finish.
So instead of constructing the furnishing with four supports of equal lengths each one is completely different. The front left is made up of two long drawers atop a tall drawer-like cupboard and a stunted tapered foot. The right side is leveled out with a shorter stack, including a larger cabinet and a lengthier wooden support. One back leg of le Bureau de Paolo has a cubic cubbyhole embedded and the whole whimsical Secondome desk stands firmly with an even plane.
