Cultural Modernism Catalogs

The Lara Quint Autumn/Winter 2014 Collection is Vanguard

Entitled "Bushido", the Lara Quint Autumn/Winter 2014 collection pays homage to ancient traditions with its modern womenswear pieces.

The designer's looks fuse kimono silks with textured metallics that are cut into structured coats, sculptural tops and pleated skirt designs.

Inspired by traditional Japanese armor, calligraphy, Jakuza tattoos and Shibari binding, the designer combines these references into a unique collection of culturally inspired pieces.

Linens, silks, wools and leathers are just some of the textures and materials that reinforce the collection's overall theme. Its wardrobe staples are showcased in a 'Bushido colour palette that is based on beige, black and white tones as well as accents of red, the symbol of blood and death'.

Lara Quint is based in Kiev, Ukraine and is a graduate from the National University Of Technology And Design.
