Thread and embroider artwork has been pretty prevalent as of late in the art world and L-able shows yet another example of this reigning technique. With the added use of nails, L-able creates tangled portraits that seem to jump right out of the wall. Full of life and dimension, these ghostly works of art are slightly eerie as well.
Founded by design duo Pamela Campagna and Thomas Scheiderbauer, who also happen to be husband and wife, L-able's threaded portraits center around old family photos that have been unearthed for this purpose solely. Incredibly intricate and detailed, L-able took nearly a month to create each art piece.
L-able shows that the use of new materials can create a new connection between artist and art as well as audience and art.
