These Knoll chairs have been reworked by designer Noel Mercado to incorporate waste materials that give them an alternative profile and even more artistic silhouette.
The chair collection consists of three Knoll models including the Cesca, Spoleto and the Wassily, which have each been reworked with unexpected materials. The Cesca maintains its tubular steel frame but has acrylic boxes filled with Little Tree air fresheners, while the Spoleto is integrated with speaker components and the Wassily features seatbelts in favor of leather straps. The Cesca, Spoleto and Wassily are appropriately renamed Little Trees, Noise Violation and Junkyard Dogs, respectively, for the collection.
The various Knoll chairs were created in official collaboration between Mercado and the furniture brand, and are available for purchase from the artist for $7,000 each.
