The King's Cross Pond Club is a natural, chemical-free pool situated in the urban area of King's Cross in London. This pool is the UK's first ever public swimming pond, and is designed to give visitors a place to swim, relax and enjoy the urban outdoors. It was designed by Ooze Architects and artist Marjetica Potrc.
The pond measures 40 x 10 meters and is surrounded by landscaping including pioneer plants, wildflowers and bushes. Wetland and submerged water plants help filter the water to keep it clean. The pond offers changing facilities and a viewing area, while lifeguards are on hand to cast an eye over swimmers.
The King's Cross Pond Club is the latest in an expanding collection of outdoor swimming facilities in the British capital.
