The Kikisa Y Jincup may bring to mind a sharpened pencil for some. That is due in large part to it roughly carved sides as well as the use of color around the lip. Although very similar to the previous Kikisa Cup, the use of paint adds a cleaner aesthetic to the overall design.
Designed by Yohji Yamamoto and Akihiro Woodworks, the Kikisa Y Jincup is made out of tabunoki wood, "a type of evergreen tree native to Kagoshima prefecture," according to Hypebeast. Although the look is somewhat unfinished, the the surface has been sanded down to a smooth finish, giving the octagonal body an almost polished look, at least upon closer inspection.
The Kikisa Y Jincup is currently sold only in Japan.
