Debuting his first furniture collection at this year’s Interior Design Show (IDS) in Toronto, Khalil Jamal focused on bringing another level to modular designs. He embraced relatively thin layers in order for the owner to change the shape of each piece as he or she sees fit. Although comprised of three pieces in total, Khalil Jamal creativity easily turns it into an even larger line.
"Inspired by the dynamic colors and forms found in Italy’s Memphis Group, Piet Mondrian’s reductionist paintings, and reconfigurable children’s toys," as written on Design Milk, the collection is at once sophisticated and playful. Khalil Jamal encourages people to actively interact with each design to not only put their own touch on them, but to appreciate form and function in a concrete way.
