KFC Dégustation is a three-day pop-up in Sydney that reinvents the classic Kentucky Fried Chicken menu with the spirit of fine dining. "Dégustation" is the French word for "tasting," or as KFC defines it, "Dégustation is just a fancy way of saying heaps of food."
At the pop-up, guests will be invited to discover menu items reinterpreted by "Australia’s dégustation king." Nelly Robinson. Diners will get to taste 11 bites and wine, including unusual dishes like Potato and Gravy, which takes the form of a candle with "wax" made of gravy for dipping a potato bun into. There's also Tongue Twister, an edible, lickable portrait of Colonel Sanders, and La Di Da Drumstick, which sees the Original Recipe dusted in quinoa and edible gold. Although fancy, many of the dishes are still down-to-earth enough to be eaten with hands.
