Keychron is Unveiling its Second Magnetic Switch-Equipped Keyboard Model

Keychron is moving away from its mechanical switches, opting for new magnetic ones with minimalist aesthetics. Magnetic switches are the newest keyboard technology on the market, and Keychron has already equipped them on its previously released Q1 HE and newly launched K2 HE.

Magnetic keycaps are vastly different from their mechanical counterparts. They harness magnetic fields to adjust the voltage when a key is pressed, and the keyboard’s controller detects the voltage difference to register the key press. Unlike traditional mechanical switches, which rely on physical contact between the keycap and the switch mechanism, Hall effect switches operate without such contact.

The Keychron K2 HE offers wired and wireless modes with a 75% tenkeyless layout. It also offers a web app for easy configuration.
