Although Jours Apres Lunes claims to design 'loungerie' for children, the collection is nevertheless raising eyebrows across the fashion industry. Perhaps it is because many are still reeling over shocking and suggestive images of 10-year-old model Thylane Blondeau seen on the pages of Vogue Paris. Yet, it can't be argued that Jours Apres Lunes is fueling the debate over the sexualization of young girls.
Based in France and founded by Sophie Morin, Jours Apres Lunes may offer innocent onesies for toddlers, but it is its 'daughter' range of loungerie, which is deemed suitable for girls between the ages of four to twelve, that has people feeling disturbed. The fact that it is named 'daughter' because some of the pieces come in matching 'mother' sizes is a bit unsettling.
