Joe Fresh seems to always have one of the most exciting shows at Toronto Fashion Week and last night’s presentation of the Joe Fresh Fall/Winter 2012 collection was no exception. In what was only a 12-minute show, audience members were captivated by a diverse range of outerwear, casual wear and more formal pieces.
The women’s collection, which is always stellar, featured garments with bold colors, houndstooth prints and geometric cuts, while the men’s collection was the finest of the label’s to date. Wool outerwear in striking hues of mustard and, the brand’s signature color, orange, as well as monochromatic pieces, unified the men’s collection as a whole. A white dress shirt with a large houndstooth print on it served as one of the line’s statement pieces, while tweed trousers and hand-knit sweaters all worked together in this collection as a nod to ‘60s’ mod fashion.
Slimmer silhouettes, modern tailoring and suited separates provided for a dapper shift from the line’s past menswear collections of casual pieces and sportswear, making the evolution of the Joe Fresh men’s collection one that is definitely exciting to watch. So if you want to look as fresh as possible come this fall season, stay away from all those grays and blacks and embrace some powerful palettes with the new Joe Fresh Fall/Winter 2012 line.
