After a sample viewing of the Jen Mann illustrations, it's easy to see why this graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design has already managed to make a name for herself in the artworld, despite graduating only two years ago.

My favorite image from the Jen Mann illustrations features a young, tattooed and shirtless man staring intently at the viewer while holding a feather. The illustration is made by Jen Mann's ability to capture detail. She gives her subject the ripples, cuts, and definition that helps the viewer connect with the painting in a way that most cannot normally.
Many of Jen Mann's illustrations will be displayed at the opening of her first solo show entitled 'Subconscious Vista,' which premieres at the 1313 Gallery in Toronto, September 2011.
