Chairs That Follow You

RFID Robot Chair

The Dutch designer Jelte van Geest created a chair that follows people around. The Take a Seat robot chair was conceived and designed for the Openbare Bibliotheek Endhoven library and the robot chair moves around thanks to RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The RFID radio signal tag embedded in the patrons' library passes allows the quaint robot to follow them around and thereby makes itself available when the person is tired and wants to catch a break.
