First it was leggings, then treggings (trouser leggings), and this season, we’re looking at jeggings which are, you guessed it, denim leggings.
"The denim makers exhibiting their spring wares at the ENK and Project tradeshows in Las Vegas this week are banking on super-stretchy skinnies as the next huge trend," Style.com said in an article on jeggings.
Indigo Slim pointed out the jegging a while back, offering synonyms too. "TopShop calls them knitted jeans, urban outfitters goes with the ‘pull on jean’, but asos has come up with the jegging. Say it a few times."
At first glance, these pants could look like super skinny jeans, but up close, it won’t take you long to figure out that you really do see every single curve and tendon—and if they’re made of super stretchy elastic material, those little snags in the soft jeggings fabric are kind of a giveaway.
Featured in the gallery are jeggings from Urban Outfitters (pull-on jeans), TopShop, Asos.com, Goldsign and Citizens of Humanity. In the related articles, you can also see Rock & Republic jeggings. Celebs spotted in super stretchy jeans that could be classified as jeggings include Ciara, Whitney Port and Angela Simmons.
