With the help of Dillon Gage Metals, a bullion trading company based in Dallas, the French designer has created a 1-oz., 24-karat gold bar.
The Jean Paul Gaultier gold bullion bar is not just any bar, however. It's a bar for the fashion-conscious, what with its engraved heart wrapped with a banner featuring the designer's name and sun rays all around. It's being described as a "fashionable way for investors to diversify holdings and hedge against inflation." It's unclear, though, whether investors who want to diversify and hedge are actually demanding a fashionable way to do so (but no judgements here).
The Jean Paul Gaultier gold bullion bars are being traded at about $1,830, which The Telegraph says is a 10 percent premium over other common gold bars.
