The Australian-based artist Jaimee Paul has released a series of detailed animal portraits. Her depictions of owls, bear and dear are synonymous with her New Zealand roots as she grew up alongside eight dogs, two horses and multiple lambs. Her beautiful surroundings influenced her deeply, and she has used her childhood observations to fuel her artistic endeavors.
Paul currently studies at Sydney's College of Fine Arts. And though she may be a student, her work has already been picked up on and represented by The Drawing Arm, a renowned illustration agency.
The most remarkable aspect of Paul's work here is its minimalist appeal. Her sketches of fur, eyelashes and feathers are incredibly elaborate, and yet she only required a pencil and paper to pull it all off.
