The days of vacationing with Frommer’s guides to Europe are over. A new generation of travel nerd will be born, but this time they’ll be a little more chic than geek.
McGraw-Hill has launched its new iPod compatible translator, the iSpeak Series.
Available in Spanish, French, German and Italian, the program transforms iPods and MP3 players into foreign language translators with nearly 1,500 audio tracks. Not only does this little gadget appeal to techies, but its simplicity makes it easy for anyone to use.
The audio tracks are organized by category making it easy to dig out the right phrases when trying to locate a washroom, look for a place to get some grub, find a certain tourist attraction or lay your head at night. It’s also packed with hundreds of expressions and phrases to help you socialize with the locals.
The iSpeak series will become your new travel must-have. Just like finding music files, iSpeak files can be found by browsed by categories such as Service & Shopping, Entertainment and Train & Metro.
You’ll be able to converse in a foreign language with ease as the iSpeak covers categories from introductions, weather, food and feelings. It is the first iPod-compatible language reference to utilize audio and visual functions. Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese editions are said to launch this summer, expanding options even further.
Your keys to communicating with the world can literally be at your finger tips.
