The Island Pilot DSe hybrid yacht proves that green guilt has spread even to the most well-heeled among us. This eco-friendly vessel combines electric power, solar power and diesel fuel. There is a series of solar panels on the roof and wind turbines for clean and sustainable energy. On solar power alone, the DSe reaches speeds of six knots, and when the diesel fuel is used, the DSe can accelerate up to 13 knots.
Interior appointments include energy-efficient appliances, an HDTV flat panel monitor and a Bose audio system. According to Luxist, the Island Pilot DSe is currently being shown at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
