Phonofone II

This is the Phonofone II, designed by Tristan Zimmermann.

I love it when somebody takes a high tech gadget and makes an accessory that is very low tech. There are no electronics for the phonophone, it depends entirely on the ceramic design and horn acoustics to amplify the sound of you iPod by connecting earphones. It promises to make the sound more lush too.

Implications - Youth demographics have a penchant for irony and appropriation. By combining high and low tech elements into an absurd product, tension is created. Companies should consider blending ideas in order to create products that are ironic; doing so will foster engagement with this demographic.
