Parking garages are a great way to cut down on the need for expansive lots; however, Intexture Architects took environmentalism one step further by adding a lush green garden to the roof of the Houston Medical Center.
The peaceful oasis offers patients and their families a place to relax while visiting the center. The 6000 square foot garden also has numerous eco benefits: It reduces rainfall runoff, protects the building from solar heat accumulation, purifies air, and provides shelter and habitat for local wildlife.
