As part of her thesis assignment at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Noesha Hu created an interchangeable shoe that can be worn year-round. The Dutch designer imagined what footwear would look like with the same sole and as it adapted to different seasons.
The wood and plastic sole comes with different straps and coverings that change depending on the weather and seasons -- from sandals at the beach in July to autumnal sneakers.
This interchangeable shoe is ideal for women who hate shoe shopping. While this invention does require effort on the part of the wearer -- the shoes need to be stripped down and metal screws are used to attach new leather uppers -- there is still a market for this kind of fashion. The creator notes "these shoes are perfect for practical women who like utility wear."
