This intelligent packaging design called 'DeXel' has been conceptualized by the Packadore Collective as a way to help reduce the instance of food waste. The device works by being attached onto the top of a metallic lid and will go to work using motion-sensing technology to help consumers remember to eat it if they have left it for too long. This is communicated to the user in the form of lighting on the top to help users keep on top of the products they buy instead of allowing them to spoil.
The 'DeXel' intelligent packaging design works with an accompanying app that is being sponsored by the various brands involved in the Packadore Collective including SGK Anthem, Vrijdag Premium Printing, Generous Minds, Neurensics, Kurz and Merck.
