Instagram announced today that on May 16th, 2013 it plans to launch the latest software updated 3.5 for iPhone and Android users that includes their newest tech feature: 'Photos of You.' This feature allows the Instagram user to tag friends, brands, or places directly onto their photos. The tag feature works similar to Facebook’s photo tagging with one crucial difference: the tags can only be made by the user uploading the photo.
Instead of using the ‘@’ symbol many have adapted as a tagging tool from Twitter, Instagramers can select the location, brand, or person(s) they wish to feature in their photo, directly tap the image, and implement their tags right onto the photo. The tagging feature will save Instagramers time and won't clutter up their comments feed.
