Located in central Amsterdam, this museum is meant to showcase the latest innovations in fashion and textiles that put sustainability and ethics first. Appropriately dubbed ‘Fashion for Good,’ the institution is conceptualized and launched by American studio Local Projects. The initiative consists of about "50 innovators that have sought to disrupt the fashion industry."
From dresses dyed with engineered micro-organisms and apple-made leather to mycelium-based garments and devices that aim to make the industry more transparent, the museum will surely excite, motivate and inspire its visitors. Each of the exhibited pieces is accompanied by a quote from the creator, detailing the exact problem that they are trying to overcome. Moreover, Local Projects takes an immersive approach to its activation, allowing the audience to interact with the innovations in fashion and thus, allowing the individual to move from a passive observational stance to an active one.
