Sennheiser has announced that it will collaborate with Karma Automotive to produce an in-car audio system. For this project, Sennheiser will integrate its loudspeaker as well as microphone technology into the cars. The in-car audio system will use Ambeo sound technology, which was developed by Sennheiser and features 3D sound virtualization capabilities. The system is able to use either 3D audio or other sources to produce a 3D playback for listeners. The Ambeo audio system was initially revealed at CES in 2018.
The new audio system works by utilizing multi-channel speakers as well as a subwoofer. The system will use headrests in the car as an additional location for speakers. Also included in the design are two microphones that will enhance in-car calling capabilities.
