The ID.EIGHT Hana Light Mix sneakers has been designed by the Italy-based brand as a unisex footwear style that will provide wearers with a way to enjoy a comfortable shoe that doesn't lose sight of the environment. The sneaker is constructed with materials that would otherwise be considered waste by the food industry including apple skin, grade skin, pineapple leaves and seeds. The sneaker is further enhanced with recycled mesh for the inserts on the upper, sole and the laces along with 30% recycled rubber for the sole.
The ID.EIGHT Hana Light Mix sneakers were explained by the designers who said, "In recent years, the amount of agri-food waste used to make sustainable products has gone from 0 to over 30 tons per month. A great resource is used to produce, for example, the ‘paper’ used for handkerchiefs and kitchen rolls, and the material we use for our sneakers."
