Valencian design studio Masquespacio completes the design for the sushi chain Ichi Station in Milan. The dine-in restaurant is detailed with accents that resemble a futuristic spaceship, juxtaposing the idea that it is set in a historic building located in the Brera District.
The space opens up to create a tunnel where diners are able to observe the sushi-making process with a bar close to the entrance to serve take-away customers. Co-founder of Masquespacio, Christophe Penasse explains the design and approach, stating "We proposed approaching the travel concept as a trip to the future. When you enter Ichi, it's like entering a capsule-like spaceship traveling through light, where you will disconnect from reality in order to get in touch with the food."
