The Ice Cube RareInk Charity Collabo Brings History to Fans

The Ice Cube RareInk limited edition print series is a charitable collaboration between hip-hop OG, Eric "Ice Cube" O'Shea and RareInk, a company dedicated to creating the music industry's first authentic art autograph program.

The Ice Cube RareInk collaboration will donate 10% of each sale to the Minority AIDS Project, a non-profit organization that "Provides educational and other HIV/AIDS related support services to eligible individuals without regard to age, gender, ethnicity, culture, language or other circumstances," as noted on their official website.

The Ice Cube RareInk print series features a collection of top artists creating original artwork based on Ice Cube's lengthy and iconic career for limited edition prints, ranging from 75-250 pieces. Some highlights of the artwork include recreations of Ice Cube's legendary "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted," album cover as well as a mural piece based on his equally as memorable "It Was a Good Day," music video.

The Ice Cube RareInk print series became available to the public on June 22, 2011.

Implications - One of the most effective ways a company can earn itself consumer goodwill and longterm publicity is through aggressively investing in charitable enterprises. By attaching the brand's name to a cause and donating money, the company becomes associated with the kind of benevolence many corporations are criticized for not having. The company also stands to earn sustained free press from media and non-profit organizations that cover the charitable endeavor.
