Mercedes Benz announced that it created new hybrid versions of its 'CLA Coupe,' 'GLA Shooting Brake' and also the 'GLA' SUV. The plugin hybrid versions will help the auto manufacturer increase its options for eco-friendly drivers. The new models will be available to consumers in European markets this spring. Batteries for the new hybrid vehicles were sourced by Deutsche, a Daimler subsidiary.
All of the new models feature a 75kW electrically powered motor, as well as a gas engine with four cylinders. The electric motor has a high-voltage, lithium-ion, battery. The battery can also be charged using both alternating and direct current. Mercedes-Benz stated that drivers will be able to run the electric motor for a total of 35-43 miles.
