Lorick Collection Influenced by Hurricane Ike or Hurricane Hannah?

With the National Hurricane Center naming an onslaught of natural dangers, from Hurricane Ike to Hurricane Hannah to Hurricane Gustav, disaster is starting to prove an unusual source of inspiration to the fashion industry. After recently featuring the Hurricane Gustav pants, we bring you a creative fashion showcase that is inspired by similar disasters.

The Lorick Spring 2009 collection by new designer Abigail Lorick is set to make its debut in an upcoming episode of the popular TV hit, Gossip Girl. However, Lorick gave a sneak peak to her collection in an outlandish showcase that had themes like "After the Storm", "Demolition Party", "Overgrown Garden," and "Bedroom Disaster" among others.

With the media focused on Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Hanna, Lorick could not have chosen a better time to make a splash with her quirky set design and exquisite collection. She’s surely on my designers to watch list.
