The Shweeb

Starting off as an adventure park ride, the Shweeb may soon become a popular mode of transportation.

Designed by Geoffrey Barnett, this high efficiency, no emission urban transport system combines recumbent bicycles, bullets, and monorails.

Here's how it might be used. Someone wakes up and heads to the rail system where they can jump in an unused Shweeb (people don't own Shweebs, they borrow them like grocery carts). They pedal along at a swift 45 km/h. Should a speed demon come up behind them, the two units become one, with both riders combining their efforts to go faster than if they were alone.

I see a thinner future.
