Grandfather of two Jay Hewitt created a huge three-storey treehouse for his grandchildren. The entirely wooden house took about one year to complete and amounts to 780 total square feet.
The wood, windows and furniture were all created by Jay himself and he used old pieces of existing material. For example, he used old windows from demolished construction sites and built wooden furniture from discarded pieces of timber. The upcycled treehouse is a play area for his grandchildren but it can also act as a suitable abode for adults.
The huge treehouse is large enough to comfortably fit adults and it provides a beautiful panoramic view of the fields and forested area below. This house is an interesting idea for architectures to consider as cities expand. As urbanization continues to grow into rural areas, the idea to build upward instead of outward is a creative space-saver.
