The iPhone 5 may be slim, but the title of the world’s slimmest smartphone has been claimed by the recently unveiled Huawei Ascend P6. The Ascend P6 is just 6.18 mm, a width which is apparently enough to capture the crown. The Android smartphone is filled with features that should make it an attractive option alongside Apple and Samsung’s offerings.
The Huawei Ascend P6 runs Android 4.2.2 and the company’s own Emotion UI. It has 2GB of RAM and 8GB of memory which can be expanded to 32GB through the use of a microSD card. Its screen measures 4.7 inches and it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel backside camera with panorama and facial-recognition technologies. Huawei says that the Ascend P6’s battery lasts 30 percent longer than batteries of comparably size, and it recharges in under four hours. Pricing is set at $600, although a U.S. release has not been announced.
