Glen Irani Architects designed the 'Hover House 2,' the follow-up to the first Hover House, in Venice, California.
As its name suggests, the house features a "hovering" volume, which allowed the architects to circumvent the typical cessation between the front and rear plots. The sweeping roof was made so that it channeled and filtered the clerestory light, while simultaneously appearing to float over the interior. Moreover, the design concept of the Hover House 2 suggests that interiors can be bolstered and improved with the use of refined, luxurious outdoor spaces. The architects ensured that their "outdoor living" stays comfortable, protected with the aforementioned hovering volume.
Finally, the architects stayed environmentally conscious while conceiving the design. The Hover House 2 is fully equipped with a PVC cool roof, window shading and sustainable wood finish.
