The House of Courtyards is designed by Indian firm Studio VDGA which is defined by a range of interacting blocks and voids. It is the latest neighborhood in Dubar and it is arranged around a series of courtyards, as referenced in its namesake. It is defined to replicate the traditional desert architecture whilst also tapping to influence of Indian design.
The team wanted to create the home from textural and blocky volumes with tall walls and warm tones. The studio speaks about the design project to Dezeen, stating "Being our maiden project in UAE, it was our effort to be very close to vernacular architecture and give full justice to the context. The external textures were inspired by the desert mud-plastered look."
