Hotel VW California is a marketing stunt by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and website Laterooms.com that offers guests the chance to spend a night in a Volkswagen California SE camper van in a select UK location.
The campaign includes six California SE camper vans, each of which seats up to four adults and is fitted with a pop-up roof, a well-equipped fridge, beds, integrated LED lighting, air-conditioning and central heating as well as an awning containing a table, chairs and barbecue equipment.
The first location chosen for Hotel VW California was Temple Island, a private island in Oxfordshire. Each 'room' cost $60 per night, with proceeds being diverted to charity.
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles says the Hotel VW California show will soon be rolling into other UK locations in the near future.
