Fernando Akasaka's 'Giddy Up' Stool Will Still Your Horse-Lovin' Heart

Brazilian Fernando Akasaka has juxtaposed modern and traditional in his chrome-mounted saddle stool design. Horse-lovers and cowpokes will be hollering, “Yee-Haw,” while less vocal admirers will quietly appreciate the feel of the fine fit on their derrieres.

Akasaka founded F.Akasaka in 2006. He focuses on contemporary objects. The website has LOTS of chrome.  The most commonly used materials for the FA Design portion of the company are fiberglass, wood, carbon fiber, and metals. Every piece is stamped, signed and numbered.

Implications - Fernando Akasaka's 'Giddy Up' stool is consistent with the designer's penchant for making innovative, conceptual and all round fantastic furniture. This is definitely a designer to watch out for.
