A new hormone kit developed by Marie-Claire Springham is designed to override nature. The Central Saint Martins product design graduate is prototyping the ability for fathers to lactate, chest-feed their babies and share the responsibility of young parents.
An ambitious project, without a doubt, the project requires couples to attend a pre-natal course during their pregnancy. The hormone kit itself comes with a breast pump and a compression pump. Of course, Marie-Claire Springham also includes the mandatory hormones to stimulate lactation in men.
Still in its testing stages, the concept is intended to benefit both sexes — it will not only alleviate some of the "pressure on new mums" but will also "allow dads to build a better bond with their babies."
