Harry Potter Inspired Owl Ornaments

Hooters for Christmas

Owls are very hot for Christmas decor this year. That’s right, not eagles, doves or swans, but the carnivore that hunts the night for fresh meat. Sure, I thought, and then I went shopping.

Christmas trees are littered with the swivel-headed, big-eyed bird ornaments. Most of them are the snowy owl variety which I can understand somewhat—they are a rather dramatic looking white creature.

Perhaps it’s a result of Harry Potter’s magical snowy owl Hedwig. Who am I kidding? This must be the explanation for the abundance of these hooters.

The ornaments here are from (in order of appearance), Cannon Falls, Smith & Hawken, Plow & Hearth, Heliotrope, the Squirrel Store, Target, Kurt Adler and Christmas Forever. The adorable Christmas stocking is from the Tweet Baby Design’s Etsy shop.
