Stanislava Pinchuck, an artist hailing from Ukraine, offers a striking array of homemade tattoos that many people would pay a pretty penny for. However, she doesn't charge a cent for them. Instead, she works on a trade system in which her friends give her something meaningful and personal in exchange for a homemade tattoo.
Although she only creates homemade tattoos for her friends, anyone would be lucky enough to have her constellations, wildflowers and other artistic renderings inked on their skin permanently. About her unique business model, Pinchuck says, "So far, I’ve really just kept it as a trade system, and only for friends—it’s too important and intimate for me to take money for, at this stage. A trade for what someone feels it’s worth—maybe they teach me a skill in return, cook me dinner, give me a book I would love, assistant work, whiskey."
