Japanese graphic designer Tomohito Ushiro recently finished the design of the Huroo East Park toilet located in central Tokyo. It is the latest to join the Tokyo Toilet project and is built in the park. The toilet features a large light panel that creates a dynamic light pattern with the help of 7.9 billion circling lights that is made as a reference to the world's population at the point that the project took place.
It is made to replace a red brick block that previously was on site and now it has a glazed back wall that closes the light panel. Ushiro hopes that the toilet will function as a piece of public art and bring attention to the wider project overall -- it includes 17 toilets by leading artists and designers in the city.
