Hinge is introducing a new feature dubbed One More Hour that hopes to motivate Gen Z consumers to seek out more in-person interactions. Launched due to the growing loneliness epidemic, this unique initiative will be introduced in February and will award individual grants of up to $25,000 to select social groups in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.
"Social clubs and groups offer young adults the chance to plug into recurring moments of connection and to find community along the way. With One More Hour's new fund, we simply want to make these important resources more accessible," said Josh Penny, Director of Social Impact at Hinge.
Hinge is joining forces with DoSomething Strategic and the Foundation for Social Connection to set impact benchmarks for their program and identify commendable organizations. A panel of Gen Z representatives will determine which groups are deserving of a grant.
