The new ‘Hija Por Vida’ line of accessories screams natural beauty, with its Mexican and Native American-inspired creations that add spark to any outfit. The collection is the product of a collaboration between veteran designer Vanessa Salazar and newcomer Romi Klinger. Klinger, an LA-based makeup artist, is a regular on the Showtime series "The Real L Word," and co-created Hija Por Vida as a tribute to her father’s Mexican roots. Translating from Spanish to mean "Daughter for Life," the company mixes traditional ornaments and decorations used in aboriginal dress with modern elements to build a unique look. Chain and leather rosaries, feather pouch necklaces, dreamcatcher charms, pebbled bracelets and fur boot cuffs are just a few of the eye-catching pieces. My favorite piece is the gold glasses chain with charms -- a stylish update to a classic accessory.
The Hija Por Vida lookbook features Romi Klinger as model and is currently available on the company’s website, along with galleries that display the entire line. The items will be available for purchase online by Fall 2011.
