Devon Turnbull is a talented soundsystem engineer and also recognized as the innovative 'speaker sculpture' -- his latest project is the HiFi Listening Room Dream No. 1. The idea of the speaker sculptor is that he is responsible for creating immersive listening experiences that tap into the different senses.
The exhibit will be running in London at the Lisson Gallery until August 26th and is open to everyone to encourage listeners to "surrender to the act of listening." The listening rooms are carpeted to allow the large speakers, amplifiers, and turntables to truly stand out. The designs are comprised of grey neo-brutalist looks that create an artful ambiance. Turnbull creates pre-recorded sounds using vinyl records and tapes, spinning through new tracks and hits.
