As consumers look to kickstart their own urban garden, many are opting for all-inclusive herb kits that boasts dual-purpose packaging.
This student project, officially titled Herbesoul, was created by Samvidh Ramanathan and Malleka Singh of the MIT Institute of Design in Pune, India. The innovative concept highlights the shift toward sustainable packaging concepts that see products be designed with natural packaging schemes. The students were inspired to design a kit that provided beginner gardeners with everything needed to get started, including instructions.
The Herbesoul concept would include one gardening tool, two seed packets, one packet of plant food, a base plant, pot and coco peat. The packaging can be reconfigured to serve as a storage bun for the materials that come in the herb kits.
