Local design firm Studio Ellsinger has completed the design of the Hee House, which is a small holiday cabin on the west coast of Sweden. The home is defined by its hat-shaped metal roof which is meant to draw attention and also protect guests from the surroundings. It is named Hee House after the nearby beach at Heestrand and it is a space for a young family.
The co-founder of the studio, Mikael Ellsinger speaks about the space with Dezeen, sharing "Our house aimed to leave the ground and its surroundings as untouched as possible, as well as triggering curiosity. The clients had bought a very rural and wild plot on the west coast of Sweden, and they wanted a similar approach. This resulted in a home with a tiny footprint where the spaces were allowed to grow upwards, making it possible to fit a lot of surprises in a very small building."
