Running the faucet and waiting for the water flow to warm up before jumping in the shower is commonplace but notoriously wasteful of water, so the Heau shower is intended to help eliminate this occurrence completely.
The shower system works by storing hot water for instantaneous use as soon as it's turned on before then being refilled with hot water from the tank. This will thus work in a cycle that ensures water is always ready for showering, while also reducing the estimated 4,000-liters and 110kWh that consumers waste each year waiting for water to warm up, according to the startup.
The Heau shower system is reported to have an installation process similar to hanging toilets and is expected to be available in 2025.
