On the contrary, it is a stable lamp. Due to the nature of the lamp's shape, it shines light through the gaps of the folds and as it has an uneven fold, the bottom gap evokes illumination as well. The material is purposefully chosen to appear unfinished, using anodized aluminum instead of stainless steel.
