Microsoft is reportedly working on a new version of its flagship console, the Xbox Series X, that will feature a disc-less design and a cylindrical shape. The console, codenamed Brooklin, is expected to launch in 2024 with 2TB of storage, Wi-Fi 6E support, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C port with power delivery. The console will also have a lower power consumption and a more sustainable packaging than the current model. The disc-less Xbox Series X will retain the same $499 price tag as the original version.
Alongside the new console, Microsoft is also planning to release a new Xbox controller that will include a gyrometer for motion control. The controller, codenamed Sebille, will have a two-tone color scheme, a rechargeable and swappable battery, modular thumbsticks, and haptic feedback that can double as speakers. The controller will also support a direct connection to cloud gaming, Bluetooth 5.2, and an updated Xbox Wireless 2 connection. The controller will be compatible with the new disc-less Xbox Series X, as well as the existing Xbox Series S and X consoles.
